Event Details:

Are you developing materials that have a positive impact on the learner’s experience?

From the perspective of ADDIE, the development phase is when most non-designers begin to see progress as our materials are produced and tested. Everything from instructor notes to virtual reality is brought from design to deliverable.

Join us as we take our course design document from the design phase and develop it into a powerful learning experience. In this session, we will review the objectives of the development phase, the most common development tools for IDs, how to determine the modality of development, and the importance of feedback and testing throughout the development phase.

This will be an interactive session using Howspace for participation and networking opportunities with fellow attendees and ATD Austin members!

About Your Facilitator:

After being in the L&D industry for nearly a decade (wearing many hats…as we all tend to do), Nicki found her passion in instructional design (ID).

Nicki has had the opportunity to gain ID experience in the traditional landscape of higher education, the process-oriented corporate world, and the fast-paced and ever-changing environment of tech startups!

Nicki has a master's degree specializing in Training and Development. With her educational background and professional experience combined, she takes a systematic approach to help stakeholders achieve their goals regarding L&D.

Whether she is developing curriculum paths, creating training programs, or designing learning products—Nicki is always focused on creating transformative and behavior-based experiences. The opportunity to make someone’s life better (or at least easier) by helping them improve their skills or enhance their scope of knowledge is both rewarding and gratifying.

Outside of the office, you can find Nicki staying caffeinated while visiting all of Austin's local coffee shops!
