Getting On-board the Technology Train

How to manage reactions when new technology is introduced

Facilitator: Don Stevens

Introducing a technology intended to improve work performance should be something that everyone wants.  Some will be glad to hop on the new technology bandwagon, but the ones that are not on-board could kill your well-intentioned initiative.  The larger the organization, the more complex the office politics become. Even having the authorization to implement the new technology does not guarantee that everyone will use the technology as it was envisioned by its sponsors.

At this month’s forum, Don Stevens, an organizational change consultant for technology projects, will facilitate a discussion of how you can manage staff reactions when your organization seeks to introduce a game-changing technology. Don will present some of the human scenarios and risks that you might experience when implementing a new technology, and he will also discuss how understanding the Hype-Cycle can help you make better technology decisions. Please come prepared to share your own stories where a new technology has driven or supported an organizational change.
