Scoping Your Training Project

You’ve just been assigned to be a trainer for a company department. How do you assess the training needs? What resources would you use? What questions would you ask? How would you scope your first training request? In this forum, we invite you to come and share resources you have used successfully in scoping a training project. This is an opportunity to “strut your stuff” and also learn from your peers. Please come with something to share. The group will discuss:

• Who are the experts on training needs? Managers or front line?
• How do you properly scope a training project?
• How do you keep a training project from expanding out of control?
• How do you choose whether a solution should be eLearning, instructor led or a blend?
• How do you handle management input after the development phase?
• How do you best tell management if training isn’t the answer?
• What tools or resources do you use?

About the Host

Leah brings her experience as an instructional designer with 10+ years in both design and delivery.  

Leah holds an M.Ed. in Counseling and has years of staff development experience as both a General Manager and hybrid designer/trainer. She has developed and delivered ILT, VILT and ELT courses.  

Leah is currently a Global Sales Training developer, Sr. Advisor with Dell, Inc.
