Crucial Confrontations: Tools for Resolving Broken Promises, Violated Expectations, and Bad Behavior by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMillan, and Al Switzler

A well-known manufacturing company recently invested tens of millions of dollars to copy a competitor’s revolutionary production system. For the changes to work, the employees had to use the new methods and abandon the old way of working.

But two years into the change effort, the company went back to the old system. Even though the new way was better, it wasn’t working for one agonizing reason: People didn’t know how to confront individuals who failed to get with the new program.

This popular book was reviewed in 2009. It is by the authors of Crucial Conversations, Influencer, and You Can Change Anything. This book is especially useful to coaching and feedback type conversations.
