If Only I Knew X: Free Internet Learning Resources to Build Career Relevant Skills

Speaker: Jenn Brown

Have you ever missed out on a job opportunity because you didn't have a particular skill on your resume? Want to keep your skills current even if you aren't actively looking? Learn how to find the free formal and informal resources in unexpected places and how to make the most out of them by creating your own skill-building projects.

Our speaker, Jenn Brown, is an ASTD member who has successfully circumvented budget restrictions and found free resources to build her career toolkit. When her job was offshored in 2007, she not only earned a PMP certification, but also developed a series of workshops on LinkedIn before it was fully adopted by recruiters and job seekers. She has also created career development workshops as the Job Seeker Liaison for the local PMI chapter's targeted job fair. She recently worked at ATMI as a Training Manager and is starting a technical communications and training consultancy called Know. Smarter. Solutions.
