Predictably Irrational -
The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions
by Dan Ariely

The basic assumption that is shared by economists, and most people in general, is that humans are rational. This is the simple and compelling idea that we are capable of making the right decisions for ourselves.

However, a competing view is that humans are irrational – that we are far from perfection. Come delve into the reality of how people behave or make decisions and how you can leverage that information effectively.

ABOUT CLIFF NOTES CLUB SIG

  • The SIG allows you to review a book's content quickly via audio and join in active discussion with the group. Attendees then have the opportunity to decide if buying a book for in-depth reading would complement learning strategies or workplace training and management teams
  • Networking begins at 6:45 pm and the audio review begins at 7 pm. Food and drink are allowed
  • Advance registration is required to ensure there are enough transcripts for everyone. Bring note-taking supplies; transcripts will be available but collected back to preserve copyright. You may order your own copy of the transcript or audio of the book summary from Audiotech Book Summary.http://store.audiotech.com/search.cfm
  • Please RSVP if planning to attend to star7fisher@aol.comor register through the Austin ASTD website www.austinastd.org
