Teacher to Trainer
New Format! Bring-your-own-lunch.
Are you a former teacher, trying to build your training career? Are you a K-12 teacher thinking about pivoting your career to corporate learning? It’s possible! Making the transition from classroom to talent development happens all the time. K-12 classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators have many skills needed by the business sector. Where do you start?
In this session, you will hear from several former teachers that made the transition within the past couple of years. Come and be inspired by their stories, hear how they did it, and how you can make your own transition happen. Learn strategies for job searching, networking, and building a resume that aligns your classroom experiences to corporate training specialist opportunities.
Remember, this SIG is open to the public. We’ve scheduled during Spring Break to help more teachers attend. Why not bring several friends? Non-ATD members pay only $10.
In this session, you will learn:
How to begin, or continue, your transition from K-12 classroom to corporate classroom.
Shannon Sherwood is a former bilingual/ESL teacher, K-12 professional development Texas educator, and textbook/online materials consultant who now manages a training department and team of trainers for a large corporate contract.
